Prescott – The Town of Prescott is pleased to announce the hiring of Renny Rayner, as Fire Chief starting April 1st, 2021.
Mr. Rayner worked at the Town of Prescott as a dispatcher for the Fire and Police Services in 1989 and 1990 before joining the Brockville Fire Department. He rose through the ranks from Firefighter to Deputy Fire Chief over an illustrious 32-year career. Mr. Rayner will build on the outstanding work and dedication the Prescott Fire Service is known for.
“I am absolutely thrilled to welcome new Fire Chief Renny Rayner to the team here in Prescott,” said Mayor Brett Todd. “While I will very much miss outgoing Chief Barry Moorhouse, who provided unparalleled service to the town for the past decade-plus as chief and for many years prior to that as a member of the fire company, we really couldn’t have landed a better successor to continue that fine work. Renny has earned a tremendous amount of respect in the region for his many years of dedicated service with the Brockville Fire Service, but he is a long-standing Prescott resident and I am very happy to welcome him home.”
“We were very lucky to have been able to recruit an experienced and well-respected member of the Fire Service. Renny will be a great addition and Leader for the Prescott Fire Department and a member of the Town Staff. I look forward to being able to transition the Chiefs position over to such capable and proud supporter of our great community. I wish him and the entire department the best moving forward,” stated Fire Chief Barry Moorhouse.
“I would like to thank Mayor Todd, Council, and Chief Moorhouse for this exceptional opportunity. Prescott Fire and Rescue is steeped in tradition and has proudly served this community for over 180 years. I am honoured and privileged to be a part of this team, to continue to provide public education, fire prevention and emergency response services to the Town I call home,” remarked Renny Rayner.
