Time Capsules Opened on Thursday at Former St. Vincent de Paul Hospital Site – VIDEO

Brockville – Two time capsules, one from the 1956 build cornerstone and one from the annex build in 1967 of the former St. Vincent de Paul Hospital were opened on Thursday morning at the former hospital site.

With many former staff of the St. Vincent de Paul Hospital in attendance, Sister Sandra Shannon, General Superior of the Sisters of Providence of St. Vincent de Paul the former owners and Bruce Hynes, chairman of the non-profit Marguerita Residence Corporation, the new owners of the property opened the two time capsules.

The former hospital site is now being prepared by the non-profit Marguerita Residence Corporation to construct an 88-unit seniors’ apartment building. The corporation also built the Wall Street Village nearby.

They hope to begin building by the end of the fall.
