OPP Operation Impact Results – Grenville County

Grenville County – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) geared up for its Operation Impact Campaign over the Thanksgiving Long Weekend that ran from October 8 to October 11, 2021. Officers were highly visible on the highways looking to prevent the Fatal 4 (distracted driving, speeding, impaired driving and lack of occupant restraint).

This year, Grenville County Detachment officers of the OPP issued a total of 86 speeding charges, two Stunt Driving charges, one Seatbelt charge, eight Hazardous Moving Violation charges, and two impaired (over 80) charges. Officers also conducted seven R.I.D.E’s (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere). Thankfully there were no fatal motor vehicle collisions this weekend.

Keeping everyone safe on the road and water is a priority in Grenville County. The message is simple: never text and drive, always buckle up, drive within the speed limit and do not drive any vehicle – car, bicycle, boat or all-terrain vehicle (ATV) – when impaired by alcohol or drugs.

Grenville County OPP wish to thank members of the public for their patience during this initiative.
