OPP Investigating Theft from King Street Store in Prescott

Police appeal for more information

Prescott– On June 21, 2021, the Grenville County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a complaint of a shoplift that occurred the previous evening, at approximately 6:10 p.m., at a retail store on King Street West, in the Town of Prescott.

Two suspects used distraction methods on a store employee to take four fragrances off of a shelf and later place them in a purse before leaving the store. Both suspects were wearing masks and their identities or unknown at this time.

The female suspect is described as:

  • Black shorts
  • White t-shirt with “LOVE” across the chest

The male suspect is described as:

  • Shorts
  • Black t-shirt with white logo and writing
  • Black ball cap

Police have now obtained a photograph of the suspects and are seeking assistance from the public to help identify them. Incidents such as this have been occurring in areas of Eastern Ontario for some time. The OPP is reminding store owners and employees to be vigilant if carrying these types of products, and employ security measures if possible.
