Failing to Attend:
On August 25, 2021, officers while on routine patrol observed a known male from Gananoque on King St E. who was wanted for failing to attend Brockville Court for outstanding Controlled Drug and Substance Act offences. Officers arrested the 46-year-old male from Gananoque, and upon searching the male located 2.5grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine. The male was charged with Failing to Attend Court, and Possession of a Schedule I Substance. The male was held in custody for a show cause bail hearing.
Gananoque Police received a call on August 27th from a complainant advising her adult son had just been assaulted by an unknown male. Officers attend the scene and are advised that the 51-year-old male victim was approached by a group who then began yelling and swearing at him. A male in the group threw a canned drink at the victim, striking him in the face. The victim retreated to his residence nearby where the group followed him and continued to berate him in front of his family. During this altercation, the victim’s mailbox was also damaged. Officers were soon after able to locate the group, who initially tried to evade police, but the 18-year-old Gananoque male accused of throwing the can was located and arrested. He was charged with Assault with a Weapon and Fail to Comply with his Probation Order. The male was released on conditions to appear in court at a later date.
Gananoque Police attended Central East Correction Centre in Lindsay, Ontario to execute an arrest warrant on a 26-year-old male from the Gananoque/Brockville area. The male had been serving a sentence for Kingston Police related charges. He was arrested and escorted to Gananoque where he was processed for several driving offences from an incident in October 2020 – including Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Flight from Police. The male was then delivered to Brockville Police where he was wanted for several offences including Theft of Motor Vehicle and numerous counts of Failing to Comply with Probation. He is currently in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
On August 29th , a 31-year-old Gananoque male was arrested by Kingston Police Force for shoplifting. In dealing with the male, Kingston Police discovered he had two arrest warrants held by Gananoque Police for Failing to Attend Court and Breaching his Probation Order. The male was returned to Gananoque where the warrants were executed, and he was held in custody for a bail hearing.
