Athens Aeros Win One & Lose One Over the Weekend in EOJHL

Athens – The Athens Aeros won 5-2 over the Arnprior Packers in Arnprior on Friday night and then lost a 6-5 decision to the Valley Timberwolves on Saturday.

The Aeros are off until Friday night when they host the Westport Rideaus at 7:30 pm at Centre 76.

Valley 6, Athens 5 – Saturday:

Athens tried to pull a huge comeback but Valley was able to hang on for the victory. Andrew Dawe collected his first EOJHL hat trick while Matt Goudreault had 1G/2A for three points. The other goal scorers were Kuehl and Schulist. The Timberwolves were able to snap their losing streak at two games. Tyson Johnston made 37 saves in the win. Valley went 1-for-3 on the power play.

Rhett Palmer scores twice while Ty Nicholson collects 1G/2A in the Athens loss. Athens went 2-for-3 on the power play. They outshot Valley 42-28. They are 2-2 in their last four games.

Andrew Sprague scores twice while Nicholson (1G/1A) and Manderson each tally two points. Ryan Letham collects his second goal and Clifford Edwards scores his first with Athens. It turned out to be the game winner back in the first.

Arnprior’s losing streak extends to two games. Cuglietta and Caruilli Giulio were the goal scorers for Arnprior. Jett Miller made 46 saves and Emerson Hunt had 28 saves.
