Gananoque – Gananoque Police Reports for Feb 19th, 2019.
February 14, 2019
On February 14, 2019 the Gananoque Police Service was contacted by a female regarding unwanted contact from her ex-husband. The male had been previously charged for domestic related offences and was released at bail court on conditions, including to have no direct or indirect contact with the female. As a result of the investigation, police arrested and charged a 36-year-old male from Kingston with failing to comply with conditions of his recognizance of bail. The male was held in custody pending a show cause bail hearing.
February 14, 2019
On January 2, 2019 the Gananoque Police Service commenced an investigation regarding a female accused who attended Brockville court as a possible surety. The female was attempting to act as a surety for a male who had been arrested by the Gananoque Police Service on Aggravated assault charges. The female was determined to have provided the court false sworn testimony in an attempt to get the male released on bail. As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old female from Mallorytown was arrested and charged with perjury and obstruct justice. The female is scheduled to appear in Brockville court to answer to the charges at a later date.
February 18, 2019
On February 18, 2019 the Gananoque Police Service were contacted regarding a male patron who had been drinking, left a licensed establishment and proceeded to drive. Police received another call shortly after regarding a single motor vehicle collision that was determined to be the same person and vehicle involved. As a result of the investigation, a 55-year-old male from Gananoque was arrested and charged with impaired operation, over 80 mgs/ml, and related highway Traffic Act offences.
