Smiths Falls – The Smiths Falls Bears lost voth of their games over the weekend in Central Canada Hockey League Tier 1 action.

A natural hat-trick from newly-acquired forward Nick Domitrovic led the Kemptville 73’s to a 5-4 comeback shootout win in Smiths Falls over the Bears in Central Canada Hockey League Tier 1 action Friday night.

Liam Hunter had a pair of assists and Peter Brooks stopped 48 of 52 shots faced in the win for the 73’s (4-16-1), while Alex Di Carlo potted a pair of goals in the shootout loss for the sliding Bears (6-12-2).

Domitrovic’s third-period hat-trick — of which two goals were short-handed — forced a shootout, which saw Jacob Thousand score the winner and Brooks come up with a key save.

The 73’s will host the Brockville BRaves this afternoon at 2:00pm at the North Grenville Municipal Centre.

Francis Boisvert extended his shutout streak to 164 minutes on Saturday night, as his 27-save performance backstopped the Ottawa Jr. Senators to a confident 5-0 win over the visiting Smiths Falls Bears.

Owen Guy netted twice in the win for Ottawa (17-3-2), while newly-acquired Finn Evans tallied an assist in his CCHL debut as a Jr. Sen.

Kyle Renaud allowed give goals on 38 shots and took the loss for the slumping Bears (6-13-2), who have now lost nine-straight games.
