……………………..HEAT WARNING continues for our entire region for today. A period of hot weather continues. Daytime high temperatures in excess of 30 degrees Celsius, with humidex values in the high thirties to low forties, are expected. Overnight lows near 20 degrees Celsius are also expected through this period, providing little relief from the heat. A slightly cooler airmass may move into the area this weekend, however there is considerable uncertainty. A few areas towards eastern Ontario are likely to experience extreme heat and high humidex values on Saturday as well………………………………………………..

Rideaus Lose 4-3 in Shoot-out to Arnprior in CCHL2

Westport – The Westport Rideaus lost in a shootout, 4-3 to the Arnprior Packers on Friday night in CCHL Tier 2 action at the Westport Community Arena.

Seth Gillingham scored the shootout winner to give Arnprior their 20th win. Adam Chruch collected a goal in the first and an assist on Jacob Cover’s tying goal with one minute left in regulation. Campitelli would add two assists and Pat Bones extended his point streak to three games by scoring his third goal this season.

For Westport, Ty Nichoson collected 1G / 2A for a three game point streak while James and Kettyle each had 1G / 1A. With Kettyle’s assist in the first, he now has 50 assists in his final year of junior hockey. Kettyle is also four goals away from hitting 40 on the season.

Shots were 47-43 for Arnprior.

The Rideaus are now 27-9-1-2, while the Packers are 20-27-2-0.

Westport travels to Arnprior this time for a rematch with the Packers on Sunday night. The puck drops at 7:30pm.
