Kemptville – The Kemptville 73’s lost both of their games in Central Canada Hockey League Tier 1 action on weekend.
Rockland 3, Kemptville 2 – Friday
Connor Beatty’s third-period winner and stellar play down the stretch from netminder Sean Storr led the Rockland Nationals to a tight 3-2 win over the Kemptville 73’s on Friday night.
Cole Lavoie had a pair of assists in the win for Rockland (11-5-2); Neal Samanski and Liam Hunter had the goals for the sliding 73’s (3-14-1).
Drew Shields and Michael Keating also scored for Rockland.
Pembroke 6, Kemptville 2 – Sunday
Jacob Kamps scored two goals including the game-winner as the Pembroke Lumber Kings dumped the visiting Kemptville 73’s by a 6-2 scoreline.
Jared Weber and Andre Simard scored their first CCHL goals for the Lumber Kings (10-8-0), who handed last-place Kemptville (3-15-1) their fifth-straight loss.
Matthew Barnaby added a goal and assist for Pembroke, while James Buckley chipped in with a pair of helpers.
Goaltender Jake Smith stopped 23 of 25 shots between the pipes for the Lumber Kings.
Kemptville is back in action on Wednesday when the host the Hawkesbury Hawks at the North Grenville Municipal Centre at 7:30pm.
