“A fight you don’t want to miss!”
CORNWALL – Canadian Light Heavyweight Champion Tim “The Irish” Cronin returns to the ring on June 17, 2017, at the Cornwall Civic Complex to take on Montrealer Louisbert Altidor in the Co-Main Event. This professional boxing event, promoted by California-based Liveco Boxing, a division of Liveco Entertainment, Inc., is the second professional fight card being promoted by this outfit in the past two months. This event, like the previous one held, will feature Cornwall hometown favourite, Tony Luis, in the Main Event.
Cronin (9-1) won the Canadian Light Heavyweight belt on April 4, at a card featured by the Shaw Festival Theater held at Toronto’s Royal York Hotel. On June 17, he will face-off in an 8 round non-title fight against 30-year-old Altidor (5-1). Altidor, originally from Haiti, now training and living in Montreal, is a skilled, slick boxer who presents a tough challenge for the newly minted champ.
Cronin, 33, born and raised in Belleville, Ontario, now lives in Toronto and trains at the Grant Brothers/Rival MMA and Boxing Club. Undefeated in his last 10 fights, his professional career has been on a steep upward trajectory as he continues his journey towards a major title and match in the United States.
“I can see Tim’s confidence is really strong right now, especially after just winning the Canadian Title. He’s a solid, dedicated fighter and I feel he can compete with anyone in the Light Heavyweight Division – not just in Canada but around the world.” – Gary Freedman, Manager
In advance of the fight, Cronin will be hosting a Meet and Greet in his hometown at Shoeless Joe’s, located at 13 Bell Blvd. in Belleville on June 4, from 2 to 4 p.m. Tickets to the fight will be available to purchase in person on June 4, at a cost of $45 for a seat in the stands or $65 for floor seats. Those in attendance at the Meet and Greet will also have a chance to meet The Champ, with photo opportunities and poster signings as well.
The doors open at 7 p.m. on fight night, with the first match set to begin at 8 p.m. Tickets can also be purchased at any time by calling 905-376-8108
