Brockville – The Brockville Braves had two games over the weekend in the Central Canada Hockey League Tier 1, winning one and losing one.

On Friday night Brockville won a 5-3 decision over the Nepean Raiders at the Memorial Centre.

There was no scoring during the first period. In the second Nepean would score first on a goal by Noah Rowe with assists by Michael Thomas and Antoine Belisle on a powerplay. Brockville would tie it up at 1-1 after a goal by Jonathan Hill with assists by Jordi Jefferson and Simon Mack, also on a powerplay.

In the third period, the Braves would pick up 4 more on goals by Mike McArthur, who picked up two, James Walker and Philippe Gilmour. Nepean would score 2 more on goals by Michael Thomas and Liam Stagg.

The Raiders out-shot Brockville 58 to 57 during Friday night’s game.

On Saturday, the Braves were in Ottawa playing the Junior Sentators losing to them in overtime 4-3.

Brockvill;e scored twice in the first period on goals by Mathieu Halle and Mike McArthur to take a 2-0 lead.

In the second period Ottawa would score one on a goal by Conor Smart. Brockville’s Fred Allaire would make it 3-1 at the end of the second.

The Junior Senators would pick up two more in the third period by Nick Lalonde and Craig McCabe to tie the game at 3-3.

Ottawa’s Chiwetin Blacksmith would score the overtime goal at 4:31 in OT to take the win for the Junior Senators.

The Braves are back in action this Friday night at the Memorial Centre, hosting the Cornwall Colts, their last game before the Christmas break. The puck drops at 7:30pm.
