Bears Lose Both Games Over Weekend in CCHL

Smiths Falls – The Smiths Falls Bears lost both of the CCHL games on Friday and Sunday in the Central Canada Hockey League.

On Friday night the Bears lost a 3-1 decision to the Navan Grads.

Mason Goldie, Zane Dalpe, and Seva Losev scored goals, while Alex Wisco made 32-saves as Navan improved their season record to 26-29-1-0.

Ryan Richardson with assists from Brent Broaders and Ethan Nystrom scored the lone Bear’s goal.

Smiths Falls fell to 28-21-3-2.

Sunday the Bears lost 7-2 to the Rockland Nationals.

Gunnar Smith led the way with a hat trick, Jack Miles, Matthew Vermaeten, and Joe Jordan also netted goals, while Jack McGovern made 22-saves as Rockland improved to 38-18-0-2 on the year.

Reid Russett and Ryan Richardson scored the two Bear’s goals.

Smiths Falls, who dropped their fifth straight, saw their record fall to 28-22-3-2 on the year.

The Bears host the Brockville Braves on Tuesday night. The puck drops at 7:30pm.
