Brockville – The Ontario Mixed Doubles Curling Championship will be contested by 24 teams divided into four pools of 6 on February 28th, 29th and March 1st at the Brockville Country Club.
The championship game is scheduled for Sunday March 1st at 6pm. Qualifying for this championship has been taking place during the winter months across Ontario, including a qualifier that took place at the BCC in early February.
A Mixed Doubles Curling team consists of one male and one female curler. This 2 person format makes for a faster game and plenty of exciting shots.
The Ontario Curling Association has held a provincial Mixed Doubles championship each year since 2013. This format was a big hit at the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea where the Canadian team of Kaitlyn Lawes and John Morris took home the Gold Medal in Mixed Doubles Curling.
Admission to this provincial curling championship is free to all curling enthusiasts and anyone who wants to see a relatively new sport in action. The Brockville Country Club will be serving food and refreshments throughout the weekend.
