DRUMMOND NORTH ELMSLEY TOWNSHIP, ON) – Officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continue to assist the Office of the Chief Coroner in the investigation of a marine vessel collision on Lower Rideau Lake.
Officers were called to the scene at 01:30pm on Saturday August 19, 2017.
The operator of a marine vessel participating in a race, William PEARSON (69 years) from Lakeville, Minnesota was ejected from the vessel when it became airborne.
PEARSON sustained major injuries and was transported to hospital by Lanark County Emergency Medical Services (EMS). He was pronounced deceased after arrival at the hospital.
