Ottawa – The Ottawa Police Service Human Trafficking Unit (HTU) confirms that Marina JAVIER has turned herself in this morning.
JAVIER is facing the following charges:
- Trafficking in persons under eighteen years by exercising control
- Financial / material benefit / trafficking person under eighteen
- Material benefit from sexual services provided by person under eighteen
- Procuring / recruit person under eighteen to provide sexual services for consideration
- Breach of recognizance
She will appear in show cause court tomorrow.
There are concerns that there are other victims. The investigation is ongoing.
