Update: FATAL COLLISION INVOLVING PEDESTRIAN ON HIGHWAY 417 IN OTTAWA

OTTAWA – On July 29, 2018, at approximately 10:33 p.m., the Ottawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian on Highway 417 near St Laurent Boulevard. Multiple lanes of the highway traveling westbound were closed, but have since reopened. The ministry of Transportation assisted with traffic control in the area. The Ottawa Police Service assisted the OPP to identify the deceased.

The deceased male has been identified as Gordon PITSEOLAK, 22 years old, of Pangnirtung, Nunavut.
