LEEDS -Members of the Ontario Provincial Police are continuing an investigation into residential break and enters east of Brockville.
In the early morning hours of October 17, 2017 members of the Leeds County O.P.P. were called to a break and enter on River Acres Drive and a possible attempt on Grandview Terrace in Elizabethtown-Kitley Township. Residence owners were home at the time.
Members of the O.P.P. Canine Unit and ERT (Emergency Response Team) were called to assist in locating the suspect who had fled the scene. That same morning a male suspect was located and arrested.
Investigation revealed that numerous houses in the area were either entered or an attempt was made to enter, also a car stolen from The City of Brockville was left at the Super 8 Motel and cars at the motel were entered.
29 year old Thomas CHEVRIER of no fixed address faces 6 counts of Break and Enter, 2 counts of Theft under $5000.00, and Theft of a Motor Vehicle, all contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice, Provincial Division in Brockville on October 18, 2017.
