TRUCK DRIVER CHARGED FOR EVADING OPP AND MTO WITH FALSE IDENTITY

LEEDS –  Officers of the Thousand Islands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continue to investigate a truck driver who provided a false identity to Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO).

On January 29, 2019 at about 3:15 pm OPP officers responded to a request from MTO for assistance with a truck driver who attempted to evade an inspection station and not properly identifying himself. After a joint investigation with MTO, the driver was charged with Personation and for Driving while Prohibited. A further 7 commercial motor vehicle driving related charges were issued by the MTO.

38 year old Devinderjit HOTHI of Mississauga has a scheduled appearance at the Brockville Court of Justice on February 22, 2019.

The vehicle HOTHI was operating has been impounded for 45 days.
