Gananaoque – On April 20, 2017 officers of the Gananoque Police Service conducted a traffic stop within the Town of Gananoque. The subsequent investigation led to the arrest and search of the female driver and her female passenger. The vehicle and both occupants were searched and a number of items were located including a small quantity of suspected Cocaine, a quantity of loose marihuana bud and 41 individual compressed marihuana pucks weighing approximately 140 grams, wrapped in a manner that would be consistent with concealing the drugs internally. Also seized was a quantity of Canadian currency, packaging and materials, and multiple cell phones.
As a result a 19 year old female from Pickering, ON and a 27 year old female from Kitchener, ON were both charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Marihuana and Possession of Cocaine. The driver was additionally charged with Drive while under suspension and her vehicle impounded. They are to appear in Court at a later date.
