Traffic Stop Leads to Seizure of Gun and Drugs

Smiths Falls – On 14Feb18 SFPS officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with improper plates on Main St E in the town of Smiths Falls. A firearm was observed in plain view inside the vehicle. As a result of the investigation officers seized a handgun, two rifles, ammunition, a prohibited brass knuckes/knife device, and Hydromorphone pills.

Trevor Alan John DURSTON, 53 yrs old, of Rideau Ferry and Dusty Mervin BELL, 30 yrs old, of Newboro were charged with a number of Firearms and Drug related offences.

Both men were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
