Theft of Four Wheeler Leads to Additional Charges

LANSDOWNE – Members of the Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating the theft of a four wheeler and other items.

On August 22, 2019 just before 10:30 p.m. OPP officers responded to reports of two males stealing things from local businesses in the Lyndhurst, Ontario area. Police received information that the males attempted to leave the scene on a stolen four wheeler prior to it stalling. Officers also learned that the males were in possession of weapons.

The investigation has led to two suspects being arrested, however no weapons were located.

A 17-year old male from Quinte West was charged with:

• Assault

• Theft over $5000 of a motor vehicle

• Theft under $5000

A 17-year old male from Bellville was charged with:

• Theft over $5000 of a motor vehicle

• Theft under $5000

• Uttering Threats- Cause death or bodily harm

The investigation is ongoing.
