Spencerville Traffic Stop Results in Two Arrests

EDWARDSBURGH – On July 5, 2019 members of Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU Leeds-Grenville & Lanark Unit and Stormont Dundas and Glengarry Unit) assisted by the Emergency Response Unit (ERT) and officers from Grenville County OPP conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle travelling towards Spencerville on Smith Road, Edwardsburgh, Ontario.

Officers seized a significant quantity of controlled substances suspected to be cocaine, crystal meth and methamphetamine tablets.

As a result, Michael TELFORD aged 37 and Brittany MCPARLAN aged 30 of Brockville, Ontario were arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine contrary to  CDSA section 5(2)
  • Possession of Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of Trafficking – other drugs contrary to CDSA section 5(2) – Three Counts
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000 contrary to s.354(1)(a) Criminal Code

They were arrested and transported to the Grenville County detachment. McParlan was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on the August 16, 2019. Telford was held for bail.
