Male arrested for uttering threats
On Saturday May 20, 2017 at approximately 5:12 p.m. police attended a business on Beckwith Street North for a report of threats being made. Investigation revealed that a 30 year old Smiths Falls man had entered the business and threatened a female employee. The male suspect was later arrested and released by way of a promise to appear and officer in charge undertaking.
Female driver arrested for drinking and driving
On Sunday May 21, 2017 at approximately 3:15 a.m. police conducted a traffic stop on Queen Street on a motor vehicle. Investigation revealed that the 43 year old female driver of Smiths Falls, had alcohol had alcohol on her breath. Police had the driver conduct a roadside screening device test on scene and it resulted in a “fail” reading. The driver was found to have over the legal limit of 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The driver had her driver’s licence suspended, her vehicle impounded and was later released by way of an appearance notice.
Female driver arrested for care and control of a motor vehicle
On the 24th of May 2017 at 0215hrs police had occasion to check a parked vehicle in the area of Old Slys Rd Smiths Falls. Investigation revealed a 53 year old female from Hammond ON, was impaired by alcohol and drugs. She was later charged with care and control of a motor vehicle and over 80 mgs. She was released on a promise to appear. Her driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle was impounded.
