Driver arrested as a result of traffic stop On Tuesday August 1, 2017 at approximately 1:32 p.m. police conducted a traffic stop on Abbott Street North in the Town of Smiths Falls. Investigation revealed that the fifty-seven year old male driver of Smiths Falls was driving while disqualified. Police arrested the suspect, issued a court date and appearance notice to answer to this charge.

Male arrested for out of town charges On Tuesday August 1, 2017 at approximately 2:15 p.m. police conducted a traffic stop on Lombard Street in the Town of Smiths Falls. Investigation revealed that the thirty year old male driver from Brockville was wanted on outstanding charges from an incident in Brockville, Ontario. The suspect was arrested and later turned over to the Brockville Police Service.

Male arrested for assault On Wednesday August 2, 2017, police arrested a thirty-two year old male suspect of Smiths Falls for assaulting a male victim. Investigation revealed that the suspect had threatened and later assaulted the victim and found to have breached his release conditions. The suspect was held for a bail hearing to answer to these charges.

Female arrested for outstanding warrant On Wednesday August 2, 2017, police arrested a thirty-seven year old female suspect for an outstanding warrant. The warrant stemmed from an April 2017 incident in where the suspect was in possession of property obtained by crime and trafficking in property obtained by crime. The suspect was later released by police by way of a promise to appear in court and officer in charge undertaking with conditions.

Male arrested for outstanding warrant On Wednesday August 2, 2017 at approximately 11:57 p.m. police arrested a twenty-two year old male on strength of an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The warrant stemmed from a domestic related incident on June 18, 2017 in where the suspect is charged with assault, mischief under $5000.00, unlawfully in a dwelling house and 6 breaches of his probation order. The suspect also now additionally is charged with; trespass by night, resisting arrest, failing to comply with his recognizance and 3 breaches of his probation order. The accused was held for a bail hearing to answer to these charges.

Male arrested for domestic related charges On Thursday August 3, 2017 at approximately 2:41 a.m. police were called to attend a residence on Elmsley Street North, for a report of a domestic disturbance. Investigation revealed that a twenty-six year old from McDonalds Corners had assaulted his girlfriend and caused damage to the residence and was found to be on conditions not to be around her. The suspect was arrested and is charged with two counts of domestic assault, choking, two counts of mischief under $5000.00, two counts of breaching his probation order and two counts of breaching his recognizance of bail conditions. The suspect was held for a bail hearing to answer to these charges.
