SEADOO’S COLLIDE IN BIG RIDEAU

LEEDS –   Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) in Rideau Lakes are continuing an investigation into two seadoo’s that collided with two males injured.

On August 6, 2017 at 3:10 PM Rideau Lakes OPP officers were called to Big Rideau Lake near Portland after receiving a report of two seadoo’s colliding. Preliminary investigation revealed that the seadoo’s operated by two 19 year old males collided with each other while wave jumping. The males were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

‘The rules that apply on our roads, also apply on the water’. ‘Keep a safe distance! Avoid wake jumping, splashing and passing close to any other vessels’, reminds Leeds OPP Detachment Commander Inspector Mike Francis to operators of all vessels.

The investigation continues.
