STORMONT DUNDAS & GLENGARRY – The SD&G Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating several incidents after responding to 146 calls for service from Friday, July 6, 2018, to Monday, July 9, 2018.

Among these occurrences, SD&G OPP responded to:

–             33 Motor Vehicle collisions

–             16 Police assistance calls

–              11 Police Information calls

–             9 – 911 calls

–             25 traffic complaints

–             9 Traffic enforcement occurrences

–             8 RIDE Programs

–             1 Fraud related calls

–             2 Domestic dispute

–             2 Assault calls

–             1 Mischief calls

–             5 theft calls

–             3 alarm calls

–             1 Break and enter call

–             1 Impaired driving occurrences

–             1 harassment calls

–             1 mental health calls

–              2 Drug Offence calls

–              2 Family Dispute calls

–              3 Neighbour Dispute calls

IMPAIRED DRIVER

NORTH DUNDAS – On July 8, 2018 at approximately 00:31pam, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were on general patrol on Nesbitt Rd in North Dundas Township, Ontario. The officer observed a pick-up truck driving erratically. The investigation revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Dylan MARSHALL (22) of North Dundas Township, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Driving a Motor Vehicle with over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood

– Driving a Motor Vehicle while Impaired

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on August 7, 2018.

EXCESSIVE SPEEDS

SD&G – On July 8, 2018 ,Ontario Provincial Police officers conducted speed measuring enforcement in SD&G and intercepted the following vehicle for traveling at excessive speeds. The vehicle was impounded and the driver’s permit seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy.

– July 8, 2018 – 8:01pm (South Stormont); vehicle stopped travelling 167km/h (100km/h zone) (Highway 401). Male driver (45) from Quebec province was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

– July 9, 2018 – 00:29am (South Glengarry); vehicle stopped travelling 152km/h (100km/h zone) (Highway 401). Male driver (27) from Laval, Quebec was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

– July 9, 2018 – 00:36am (South Dundas); vehicle stopped travelling 166km/h (100km/h zone) (Highway 401). Male driver (34) from Quebec province was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).
