BREAK IN

NORTH GLENGARRY – On October 27, 2017 at approximately 1:40am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of a break-in at a business on County Road 43, North Glengarry Township.

Investigation indicated that sometime overnight October 27, 2017 culprit(s) entered the business and removed tobacco products and food items.

An investigation continues.

IMPAIRED DRIVER

SOUTH DUNDAS – On October 27, 2017 at approximately 3:44 pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers intercepted a vehicle on Highway 401, South Dundas Township. The investigation revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Ryan FORTIN (35) of Port Hope, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Drive a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood

– Drive a Motor Vehicle while Impaired

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on November 14, 2017.                                                       

                                                            

IMPAIRED DRIVER

SOUTH STORMONT – On October 28, 2017 at approximately 1:21 am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a single vehicle collision on Highway 401, South Stormont Township. The investigation revealed that the adult male driver had left the scene of the accident, but was located by officers a short distance from the collision. The adult male driver was also under the influence of alcohol.

Ryan CROMIE (27) of South Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Drive a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood

– Drive a Motor Vehicle while Impaired

– Fail to remain (Highway Traffic Act)

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on November 9, 2017.

 

EXCESSIVE SPEEDS

South Stormont – On October 28, 2017, SD&G Ontario Provincial Police officers conducted speed measuring enforcement on Highway 401, South Stormont Township and intercepted the following vehicle for traveling at excessive speeds. The vehicle was impounded and the driver’s permit seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy.

– October 28, 2017 – 8:00pm (South Stormont); vehicle stopped travelling 154km/h (80km/h Construction zone). Male driver (39) from North York, Ontario was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

– October 28, 2017 – 6:50pm (South Stormont); vehicle stopped travelling 143km/h (80km/h Construction zone). Male driver (48) from Montreal, Quebec was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

– October 27, 2017 – 8:34am (South Dundas); vehicle stopped travelling 154km/h (100km/h zone). Male driver (24) from South Dundas, Ontario was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).
