SD&G – SD&G OPP Reports for Oct 2nd, 2017.
North Stormont – On September 30, 2017 at approximately 10:52 pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers intercepted a vehicle on Eighth Road, North Stormont Township. The investigation revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.
Joseph GIROUX (27) of The Nation, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood
– Care or Control a Motor Vehicle while Impaired
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on October 19, 2017.
South Dundas – On September 30, 2017, SD&G Ontario Provincial Police officers conducted speed measuring enforcement on Highway 401, South Dundas Township and intercepted the following vehicle for traveling at excessive speeds. The vehicle was impounded and the driver’s permit seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy.
– September 30, 2017 – 9:07am (South Dundas); vehicle stopped travelling 164km/h (100km/h zone). Male driver from Laval, Quebec was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).
North Stormont – On October 2, 2017 at approximately 1:23am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of a break-in at a business on Main Street, North Stormont Township.
Investigation indicated that sometime overnight October 2, 2017 culprit(s) entered the business and removed tobacco products and alcohol.
An investigation continues.
