DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION

SOUTH GLENGARRY – On March 5, 2019 at approximately 8:52 am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence in South Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that an adult male had been harassing his ex-girlfriend.

An adult male (32) from North Glengarry, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

–            Criminal Harassment – repeatedly communicate

The Male was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on March 16, 2019. The names of the accused persons are being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.

IMPAIRED DRIVER

SOUTH GLENGARRY – On March 5, 2019 at approximately 4:59pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers conducted a traffic stop on County Road 2 in South Glengarry Township. The investigation revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Brian BROWNLEE (36) of South Glengarry, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Drive a Motor Vehicle while Impaired

– Drive a Motor Vehicle with over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood

He was released and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall Court April 4, 2019.

IMPAIRED DRIVER

SOUTH GLENGARRY – On March 7, 2019 at approximately 3:03am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers conducted a traffic stop on County Road 20 in South Glengarry Township. The investigation revealed that the adult female driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Marcia HEUBNER (46) of Cornwall, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Drive a Motor Vehicle while Impaired

– Drive a Motor Vehicle with over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood

She was released and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall Court April 9, 2019.

WEAPONS CHARGES LAID

SOUTH STORMONT – On March 7, 2019, at approximately 8:42am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of a traffic complaint on Highway 401 in South Stormont Township.

Investigation indicated that the driver had made threats against a business in Ontario. SD&G OPP officers located the vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed (171km/hr in a posted 100km/hr zone). SD&G OPP officers intercepted the vehicle and arrested the male driver as he was in breach of previous release conditions. The male was in possession of a pellet handgun, bear spray, cannabis and a machete.

Benoit THERRIEN (29) of Saint-Valentin, Quebec was located, arrested and charged with;

–             Unauthorized possession of a weapon

–             Fail to comply with conditions of a recognizance ( 3 counts)

–             Uttering threats ( 2 counts)

–             Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose

–             Possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling (Cannabis Act)

–             Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act)

–             Drive a motor vehicle – no licence (HTA)

–             Litter highway (HTA)

–             Drive vehicle – cannabis readily available (CA)

–             Possession of over 30grams dried cannabis in a public place (CA)

He was held in custody (bail) and is scheduled to a court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall March 8, 2019.

IMPAIRED DRIVER

SOUTH GLENGARRY – On March 8, 2019 at approximately 3:13am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers conducted a traffic stop on Highway 401 in South Glengarry Township. The investigation revealed that the adult female driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Katie GUAY (29) of South Glengarry, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Drive a Motor Vehicle while Impaired with over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood

She was released and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall Court April 3, 2019.

ROBBERY

SOUTH STORMONT – On March 8, 2019 at approximately 5:58am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a robbery at a convenience store in the Village of Ingleside, South Stormont Township.

Investigation indicated that a female entered the store and demanded cigarettes. The Suspect fled the scene with a quantity of tobacco products.

No injuries resulted.

SD&G OPP officers located the female in the area.

Kaitlyn RICHARDSON (27) of Morrisburg, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

–             Robbery with theft

–             Possession of a controlled substance (cocaine)

–             Resist Peace officer

She was released and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall Court April 9, 2019.

PROPERTY RECOVERED

Female arrested

NORTH GLENGARRY – March 9, 2019, SD&G OPP officers arrested a female in connection to stolen property (car) from Casselman, Ontario. Officers stopped the female on McDonell Road, North Glengarry, Ontario. This resulted in the seizure of a 2003 Acura TSX.

Vanessa BUSS (24) of North Glengarry, Ontario was arrested and charged with;

– Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000

She was released and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall Court April 3, 2019.

IMPAIRED DRIVER

NORTH STORMONT – On March 9, 2019 at approximately 1:35pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers conducted a traffic stop on John Street, in North Stormont Township. The investigation revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Donald RUSHFORD (61) of North Stormont, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Drive a Motor Vehicle while Impaired

– Drive a Motor Vehicle with over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood

He was held in custody (bail) and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall Court.

EXCESSIVE SPEEDS

SD&G – On March 5-8, 2019 Ontario Provincial Police officers conducted speed measuring enforcement in SD&G and intercepted the following vehicles for traveling at excessive speeds. The vehicles were impounded and their driver’s permits seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy and were charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

-March 5, 2019- 3:14pm (South Dundas); vehicle stopped traveling 157km/h (100km/h zone) (Highway 401). Male (18) driver from Kingston, Ontario.

-March 8, 2019- 9:05am (South Stormont); vehicle stopped traveling 158km/h (100km/h zone) (Highway 401). Male (24) driver from Scarborough, Ontario.
