STORMONT DUNDAS & GLENGARRY – The SD&G Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating several incidents after responding to 160 calls for service from Friday February 23, 2018 to Monday February 26, 2018.

Among these occurrences, SD&G OPP responded to:

–             7 domestic disputes

–             20 motor vehicle collisions

–             3 neighbour disputes

–             3 break and enter occurrences

–             27 calls for police assistance

–             8 traffic complaints and hazards

–             13 Traffic enforcement occurrences

–             11 911 calls

–             5 alarm calls

–             1 suspicious person calls

–             2 mental health act calls

–             3 community services occurrences

–             1 drug offence related calls

–             1 sudden death investigation

–             1 sexual assault investigation

–             1 unwanted person call

–             1 trouble with youth call

–             7 prevent breach of peace calls

–             2 landlord tenant issues

–             5 RIDE checks were conducted

–             2 stolen vehicle calls

–             1 harassment call

–             2 Fraud related calls

EXCESSIVE SPEEDS

SD&G – On February 23, 2018, SD&G Ontario Provincial Police officers conducted speed measuring enforcement on Highway 417, North Glengarry Township and intercepted the following vehicle for traveling at excessive speeds. The vehicle was impounded and the driver’s permit seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy.

– February 23, 2018 – 9:21am (North Glengarry); vehicle stopped travelling 168km/h (100km/h zone). Male driver (30) from Ottawa, Ontario was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

STOLEN VEHICLE

SOUTH DUNDAS – On February 24, 2018 at approximately 9:38am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a theft of a Car from a Residence on Dundas Street, South Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that sometime overnight – February 23, 2018 a 2009 silver Ford focus with Ontario Licence Plate (CCTJ629) was removed from the property.

An investigation continues.

DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION

NORTH DUNDAS – On February 24, 2018 at approximately 10:21am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence in North Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation had taken place between a male and his common law wife. The Investigation revealed that the male had assaulted and threatened the female and had also caused damage to property within the home.

A 34-year-old male from North Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault

-Mischief

– Uttering Threats

– Careless Storage of Firearm, weapon or ammunition (6 counts)

– Unauthorized possession of a firearm

He was released and is scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on March 20, 2018.

His name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.

STOLEN VEHICLE

NORTH STORMONT – On February 26, 2018 at approximately 6:52am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a theft of a Car from a Residence on Crysler Station, North Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that sometime overnight – February 25-26, 2018 a 2013 Red Hyundai Elantra with Ontario Licence Plate (BPYD865) was removed from the property.

An investigation continues.

STOLEN VEHICLE

SOUTH DUNDAS – On February 20, 2018 at approximately 11:12am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a theft of an ATV from a Business on Flagg Road, South Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that sometime overnight February 18-19, 2018 a 2012 Black and Yellow Canam Outlander RMR 2 seater ATV was removed from the property.

On February 24, 2018 at 10:04am SD&G OPP recovered the ATV and returned it to the owner.

An investigation continues.
