STORMONT, DUNDAS & GLENGARRY – The SD&G Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating several incidents after responding to 127 calls for service from Friday December 28, 2018 to Monday December 31, 2018.

Among these occurrences, SD&G OPP responded to:

–             21 Motor Vehicle collisions

–             8 calls for Police assistance

–             9 – 911 calls

–             20 traffic complaints

–             9 Traffic enforcement occurrences

–             16 RIDE Programs

–             1 Domestic disputes

–             3 thefts

–             7 suspicious activity call

–             1 family disputes

–             1 warrant calls

–             3 mental health act calls

–             1 threats calls

–             6 Alarms

–             2 Frauds

IMPAIRED DRIVER

SOUTH GLENGARRY – On December 29, 2018 at approximately 3:28am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a motor vehicle collision on Hwy 401 in South Glengarry Township. The investigation revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Wendy Yves WALTER (34) of Montreal, Quebec was arrested and is charged with;

– Drive a Motor Vehicle while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 plus

– Drive a Motor Vehicle while Impaired – Causing Bodily Harm

– 2 Counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order

He was released and is scheduled to appear in Alexandria Court January 1, 2019.

EXCESSIVE SPEEDS

Between December 28, 2018, and December 31, 2018 SD&G OPP officers conducted speed measuring enforcement on Highway 401, intercepted a vehicle(s) for traveling at excessive speeds. The vehicle was impounded and the driver’s permit seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy.

– December 29, 2018 – 7:07am (South Glengarry) vehicle stopped travelling 154km/h (100km/h zone) on Hwy 401. Male driver (58) from Oakville, Ontario was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

– December 31, 2018 – 7:07am (South Dundas) vehicle stopped travelling 174km/h (100km/h zone) on Hwy 401. Male driver (50) from Guatemala was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).
