SD&G – SD&G OPP News Briefs for February 6th, 2017.
South Glengarry – On February 4, 2017 at approximately 8:40pm, a Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer intercepted a vehicle on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of quantities of suspected Xanax pills and marihuana.
The 17-year-old male driver, of Lasalle, Quebec was arrested and is charged with;
– Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (2 counts)
– Possession of a Controlled Substance
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on March 8, 2017. His name is being withheld as per the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).
South Dundas – On February 6, 2017 at approximately 1:57am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of an assault incident at a property on County Road 2, South Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between two (2) adult males resulted in one assaulting the other.
Tyler DUPUIS (20) of Thorold, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on February 28, 2017.
South Glengarry – On February 5, 2017 – SD&G OPP began an investigation into a report of mischief at the entrance to the Summerstown Trails on County Road 27, South Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that the wooden posts of the entrance sign had been cut down.
An investigation continues.
