DOMESTIC INVESTIGATIONS

North Glengarry – On February 24, 2017 at approximately 9:04am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a property on Dominion Street in the Town of Alexandria, North Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between an adult male and his ex-girlfriend resulted in the accused male breaching conditions imposed from previous incidents. Upon his arrest, officers seized quantities of suspected marihuana and methamphetamine.

The 20-year-old male from South Glengarry Township is charged with;

– Fail to Comply with Probation Order (5 counts)

– Possession of a Controlled Substance (2 Counts)

– Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (2 Counts)

He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall. His name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.

South Dundas – On February 25, 2017 at approximately 11:20am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a property in the Village of Iroquois, South Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between an adult male and his girlfriend resulted in the male assaulting and threatening the female. He was also in contravention of a condition imposed from a previous incident.

The 32-year-old male from South Dundas Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault – Spousal

– Utter Threats

– Fail to Comply with Probation Order

He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall. His name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.

EXCESSIVE SPEEDS

SD&G – Over the past weekend, SD&G and Highway Safety Division (HSD) OPP officers conducting speed measuring enforcement in the United Counties intercepted the following vehicles for traveling at excessive speeds. In all stops, the vehicle was impounded and the driver’s permit seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy.

– February 25, 2017 – 10:02am (Highway 401-South Glengarry); vehicle stopped travelling 155km/h (100km/h zone). Male driver (21) from Montreal, Quebec charged accordingly.

– February 26, 2017 – 8:07am (Highway 401-South Stormont); vehicle stopped travelling 151km/h (100km/h zone). Male driver (27) from St-Hubert, Quebec charged accordingly.

– February 26, 2017 – 9:34pm (Highway 401-South Dundas); vehicle stopped travelling 172km/h (100km/h zone). Male driver (21) from Mississauga, Ontario charged accordingly.
