LEEDS – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police are continuing an investigation into a male that fled from police and was located a short time later.
On the 28th of June 2017 at about 9:00 P.M a member of the Ontario Provincial Police, while on routine patrol in Rideau Lakes Township, observed a driver violate a Highway Traffic Act offence. The vehicle fled after an attempt was made to stop it.
The driver, located a short time later on County Road 29 in Elizabethtown-Kitley Township, was arrested without incident.
Andrew BEAUREGARD, 40 years old, of Brockville faces charges of Flight from Police, Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition, and Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition contrary to a Prohibition Order, Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He was released from custody pending a court date of the 28th of July 2017 at the Ontario Court of Justice, Provincial Division in Brockville to answer to his charges.
He further faces charges of Stunt Driving and Driving While under Suspension, Contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
The investigation continues.
