LEEDS – Three separate incidents kept members of the Ontario Provincial Police busy as investigations continue into drivers stopped for offences.
On the 15th of January 2017 at about 11:00 a.m. an Ontario Provincial Police officer, in Front of Yonge Township stopped a Lexus car travelling eastbound on Highway 401, Mallorytown, for having a speed measuring warning device. The 40 year old man from Guyana was charged under the Provincial Offences Act.
A second speed measuring device was seized by the same officer on the 15th of January 2017 at about 4:00 p.m. on Highway 401 in Leeds and the Thousand Islands Township. This time a 38 year old New York man driving a Jeep Cherokee was charged under the same act.
On the 15th of January 2017 at about 6:00 p.m. a motorist was stopped for speeding on 15 Highway in Rideau Lakes Township. After further investigation he was arrested for being in possession of cannabis marihuana. A 25 year old South Frontenac man is scheduled to answer to his charge at the Ontario Court of Justice, Provincial Division – Brockville on 10 February 2017.
