Prescott – Between Monday May 15th, to Monday May 22nd 2017, the Prescott Office of the Grenville Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 172 general occurrences. Of these occurrences, 42 were in Edwardsburgh /Cardinal Township, 31 in Augusta Township, 54 in the town of Prescott and 45 on highway 401 and 416.
On Saturday, May 20th at approximately 2am, the Grenville County OPP responded to a 911 call from a Branch Road residence, in Augusta Township. At this location, an unknown suspect had thrown a burning substance through the window of the home. The resident heard the window smash and was able to quickly extinguish the small fire. The OPP Forensic Identification Unit attended the scene and gathered evidence. This investigation is presently ongoing.
Sometime overnight, on May 20th an unknown suspect entered a unlocked garage on Hyde Street, in Prescott and stole numerous tools. On the same date an unknown person was reported to have entered 2 unlocked vehicles in the village of Cardinal and steal identification and cash.
