LEEDS – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police are investigating another 12 stunt drivers on Leeds County OPP policed highways during the Christmas season.
Drivers were stopped while doing speeds ranging from 57 kilometers over to 100 kilometers over the speed limit on 401 and 15 Highways.
Leeds County Detachment Commander Inspector Mike Francis reminds drivers, “Speed limits are in place for a reason – the limit is set at the maximum safe speed to travel on a particular stretch of road. The faster you are travelling, the less time you have to react to the unexpected.”
Drivers found their vehicles towed and impounded for 7 days and are scheduled to appear at Brockville Provincial Offences Court at later dates to answer to their charges.
