OPP Remind The Public To Lock Their Vehicles

Kemptville – Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a series of thefts from vehicles in the North Grenville area.

On the evening of May 23rd, a suspicious male was observed at a residence on Bennett Road, North Grenville and confronted by the home owner. On the same evening a residence on Boundary Road was broken into and electronics, jewelry, cash and alcohol was stolen.

Shortly after 1:00 am on May 27th, a home owner on Stone Road, North Grenville caught a male going through their vehicle. Minutes later a black Volkswagen was stolen from another home on Stone Road. A third home on Stone Road had a theft of money from a vehicle.

During the evening of May 26th and May 27th, an unlocked vehicle on McCaul Drive, North Grenville was entered and money was stolen. A home on Marlin Road, North Grenville had their garage and unlocked vehicle broken into and a wallet and cigarettes were stolen. Three additional homes on McCaul Drive had unlocked vehicles entered and money, a gift card and golf clubs were stolen.

On the same evening an unlocked vehicle on Marlin Road, North Grenville was entered and money was stolen. A shed, garage and a vehicle on Townline Road, North Grenville was entered and an IPhone and cigarettes were stolen.

The key to protecting your vehicle is in your hands. Keep yourself from becoming an easy target by properly securing your vehicle and property at all times. If suspicious activity is observed call the police immediately. Do not confront the person.
