LEEDS – Members of the Leeds Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) recently entered into investigations involving the illegal use of radar detectors.
Leeds OPP members stopped numerous vehicles on Highway 401 over the weekend of April 6 – 8, 2018 and found drivers being in possession or using radar detectors.
Three men from USA, one Ontario man and one Quebec man were all charged with driving a motor vehicle with speed measuring warning devices.
The set fine for this offence is $170, three demerit points attached to offenders’ drivers licence, and your warning device will be seized.
Leeds OPP remind motorists that a speed measuring warning device means any device or equipment designed or intended for use in a motor vehicle to warn the driver of the presence of speed measuring equipment in the vicinity.
