OPP HELPS RESIDENTS AT APARTMENT FIRE

CARLETON PLACE – At 09:31a.m on Monday January 14, 2018 officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call for assistance by the Carleton Place Fire Service / Ocean Wave Fire Company.

Officers and Fire Fighters evacuated residents from an apartment block on Sussex Street in the Town of Carleton Place and notified Lanark County Victim Services for support.

The fire was contained to one apartment.

Residents will be allowed to return to their homes once the Fire Service deems it is safe.

The cause of the fire is not considered to be suspicious.
