OPP Have Tresspass Concerns at Rock Dunder

LEEDS –   Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) remind hikers that a local nature reserve hiking trail is not yet open.

Leeds OPP has been advised on numerous occasions of people trespassing at Rock Dunder Nature Reserve, located near Seeley’s Bay in Leeds and the Thousand Islands Township.

Leeds OPP Acting Inspector Nancy Graves advises that, “While the OPP will be regularly patrolling for those violating the landowner’s rules, a reminder that the offence for violating this law falls under the Trespass to Property Act. In simple terms, trespassing is when you enter private property without invitation. This includes off season, after hours, and a disobedience of posted ‘no trespassing signage’.”

Not only can a provincial offence notice be issued but offenders can be arrested at police discretion if they find you or see you entering a place where you are not allowed to go.n you enter private property without invitation
