OPP Execute Search Warrants in Lanark County: Six People Charged

LANARK COUNTY – On Thursday July 5, 2018 officer from the Lanark, Leeds and Grenville Community Street Crime Unit of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), with the assistance of officers from the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), the OPP Regional Support Team (RST), Lanark County Detachment OPP and the Physical Surveillance Unit executed 5 search warrants in Lanark County.

The search warrants were executed on two residences and one vehicle in the Town of Carleton Place, one residence in the Town of Perth and one residence in the Township of Lanark Highlands.

Explosive Ordnance Disposal Officers from CFB Petawawa were called to safely deal with explosives discovered at one location.

Officers seized quantities of Cocaine, Marihuana, Marihuana Oil, Hashish, Morphine and Oxycocet Pills. Officer also seized Canadian Currency and an Audi passenger vehicle.

William SCHARF (68 years) of the Township of Lanark Highlands is charged:

One (1) Count        Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to a Probation Order.

One (1) Count        Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

One (1) Count        Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking Contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Kenneth GIBSON (39 years) of the Town of Perth is charged:

One (1) Count        Fail to Comply with a Probation Order Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

One (1) Count        Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking Contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Mary GORDON (64 years) of the Township of Lanark Highlands is charged:

One (1) Count        Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

One (1) Count        Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking Contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

All three were released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

Kay ST-PIERRE (39 years) of the Town of Carleton Place is charged:

One (1) Count        Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to a Probation Order.

One (1) Count        Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

Two (2) Counts       Fail to Comply with a Probation Order

One (1) Count         Fail to Comply with a recognizance.  Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

One (1) Count         Possession of Cannabis Marihuana for the Purpose of Trafficking

One (1) Count         Possession of Cannabis Resin for the Purpose of Trafficking

One (1) Count         Produce Cannabis Marihuana Contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

He was held in custody pending a Bail Hearing at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

Barbara WILSON (54 years) of the Town of Perth is charged:

One (1) Count        Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

Three (3) Counts    Fail to Comply with a Probation Order Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

One (1) Count         Possession of Cannabis Marihuana for the Purpose of Trafficking

One (1) Count         Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking Contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

She was held in custody pending a Bail Hearing at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

James FORTIN (52 years) of the Town of Carleton Place is charged:

One (1) Count        Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

One (1) Count         Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking

One (1) Count         Possession of Oxycocet

One (1) Count         Possession of Hydromorphone Contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

He was held in custody pending a Bail Hearing at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.
