LEEDS – The Big Four causal factors in motor vehicle collision fatalities were the main focus of the 2018 National Canada Road Safety Week. The aim was to educate drivers through awareness and enforcement of impaired driving, distracted and aggressive driving and lack of seat belt use.

As part of Canada Road Safety Week which ran from May 15 – 21, 2018 members of Leeds OPP issued 19-Water Craft Related offence notices along with 241 Provincial Offence Notices including:

214-Speeding

3-Racing

15-Seatbelt

1-Distracted Driving

2- Careless Driving

6-Other Highway Traffic Act Violations

Leeds OPP would like to remind all drivers with the warm weather here and summer just around the corner, our highways, trails and waterways will become much busier. We ask all operators to make a conscious decision to remain focused on the important task of driving.
