AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP – On January 20, 2018, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Grenville County Detachment responded to a domestic incident involving an off duty OPP officer.
As a result of the investigation, a 44-year-old male was arrested and charged with:
• Assault as per s. 266 of the Criminal Code of Canada(CC),
• Assault with a Weapon as per s. 267 (a) of the CC (two counts);
• Mischief as per s. 430(1)(a) of the CC, and with
• Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose as per s. 88 of the CC.
The officer is a 13-year member with the OPP and was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on February 2, 2018. The officer has been assigned to administrative duties.
