Leeds OPP Investigating Suspicious House Fire

LEEDS – Officers of the Leeds Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are involved in an ongoing investigation regarding a suspicious house fire.

On September 1, 2019 just before 9:30 p.m. officers from the Thousand Islands office of the Leeds County Detachment responded to a house fire on James Street in Lansdowne. The fire began in the garage but spread to the house causing significant damage. Neighbouring structures and land were also impacted by the fire.

The Leeds and Thousand Islands Fire Department responded with support from the Rideau Lakes fire department. The Office of the Fire Marshall (OFM) was consulted and the investigation is ongoing.
