LEEDS COUNTY OPP RESULTS FOR LONG WEEKEND HIGHWAY SAFETY CAMPAIGN

LEEDS-   Officers from the Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) actively participated in the Province Wide Highway Safety Campaign during the course of the Easter long weekend.

The broad goal of the campaign was increased safety for all road users with a particular focus on the correct use of seat belts.

From Friday 14th May 2017 through Monday 17th May 2017, Leeds County OPP laid the following charges in relation to driving:

Speeding.                                                   229

Stunt Driving.                                                  6

Misuse of Seatbelts.                                      18

Distracted Driving.                                           1

Other Highway Traffic Act Offences.             22

Liquor Licence Act.                                          1

Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.          17

Impaired Driving (Criminal Code)                     1
