Leeds County OPP Charge Two Impaired Drivers on Same Day

LEEDS – Members of the Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two more impaired drivers.

On July 7, 2019 at about 6:40 p.m. OPP officers of the Thousand Islands office stopped a vehicle for a traffic related offence on the 1000 Islands Parkway near Reynolds Road. The driver Richard WINNEL, 67 years old of Front Leeds-Lansdowne Township was arrested for impaired driving and driving with more than 80 mg of alcohol in his blood.

On July 7, 2019 at about 8:55 p.m. OPP officers of the Thousand Islands office stopped another vehicle for a traffic related offence on Highway 32, Front Leeds-Lansdowne Township. Investigation led to the driver, Michael ROWE, 53 years old of Kingston being arrested for impaired driving and driving with more than 80 mg of alcohol in his blood. He also faces charges under the Highway Traffic Act and Commercial Automobile Insurance Act.

Both drivers are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville at a future date to answer to the charges.
