CARLETON PLACE – On Tuesday, July 30, 2019 as the result of a traffic complaint on Highway-15 officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) recovered a vehicle in Carleton Place which had been reported stolen from the City of Toronto.
The occupants of the vehicle had fled on foot. A search was conducted with the assistance of the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine resulting in the arrest of a female adult from Toronto.
Soon after the recovery of the first stolen vehicle, the OPP was advised of a theft of another vehicle from McNeely Avenue in Carleton Place. The description of the vehicle and suspect driver was given to all neighbouring police services and OPP Detachments, ultimately resulting in the vehicle being located and recovered along Highway 401 by officers from the Leeds County OPP.
A male adult, also from Toronto, was arrested by officers a short distance from where the vehicle was discovered as a direct result of the description provided to police by members of the public
The police investigation into these incidents is continuing.
