Lanark OPP Detachment Weekly News for Week of July 16-23rd, 2018

LANARK COUNTY – Between Monday July 16, 2018, and Monday July 23, 2018 officers from the Lanark Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 424 calls for service.

The calls included:

Motor Vehicle Collisions.

 Total.                 30                           Including.

Parking Lots        8

Single Motor Vehicle off Road (“In Ditch”)      7

Impaired Drivers.

At 03:06pm on Thursday, July 19 officers responded to a report of a three vehicle collision at the intersection of Bridge Street and Morphy Street in the Town of Carleton Place.

One Dodge pick-up truck and two Hyundai passenger vehicles were involved in the collision. The driver of one of the Hyundais, Catherine HARKER (47 years) of Beckwith Township, is charged:

One (1) Count      Driving while Ability Impaired by Drug.

Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

She was released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

Domestic Incidents

At 07:43pm on Thursday, July 19 officers received a report from a person attending the Lanark County Detachment.

As a result of the subsequent investigation a sixty four (64) year old woman from the Town of Perth is charged:

One (1) Count      Assault.

Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

She was released to appear at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

At 05:26pm on Friday, July 20 officers were called to a residence on Victoria Street in Municipality of Mississippi Mills. A thirty eight (38) year old man from the Municipality is charged:

Two (2) Counts      Assault.

While the man was at the Carleton Place Detachment he became aggressive and non-compliant. One officer was injured. The man is further charged:

One (1) Count        Assault

Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

He was held in custody pending a Bail Hearing at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

At 10:45pm on Friday, July 20 officers were called to a disturbance at a business on Rideau Ferry Road in Drummond North Elmsley Township. A fifty (50) year old man is charged:

Three (3) Counts      Assault.

Four (4) Counts         Mischief

One (1) Count           Driving while Ability Impaired by Alcohol

One (1) Count           Drive Motor Vehicle with more than 80mgs of Alcohol per 100mls of Blood Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

He was held in custody pending a Bail Hearing at the Provincial Court in the Town of Perth.

Officers dealt with twelve other incidents relating to communication, property disputes and child custody.
